Why should you use supplements?
Dietary supplements can be of great help to people with greater demands on their diet. The circumstances under which supplements can be used are diverse:
- You want to optimize fat loss in your diet.
- You don’t manage to get all of the nutrients through your diet in everyday life.
- You want to increase the functionality of your immune system.
- You want to promote your regeneration.

In addition, there are types of dietary supplements that do not address deficiencies, but can be called “fun supplements”. They should improve your performance or simplify your everyday life – so dietary supplements do not always have to do something with the fundamental optimization of your health.
Are there alternatives to dietary supplements?
The handle of dietary supplements can be very premature to be. If a deficiency symptom is diagnosed, the first step should therefore always be to optimize the diet. But knowing which micronutrients are ingested through food is difficult and time-consuming without a nutrition plan. If the symptoms of deficiency do not improve even after adjusting the diet, supplements can be used as a supplement in the second step.
What causes a nutrient deficiency?
Take a look around your kitchen – is there a colorful spectacle made up of different types of vegetables and fruits? What about animal or vegetable protein sources in your fridge and store full-fledged carbohydrates and healthy fats on your shelf? Unfortunately, hardly anyone can answer all of these questions with a “yes”. Is there also a special form of nutrition? These are reasons why the body can become deficient in vitamins and minerals.

The nutritional requirement differs from person to person and cannot be generalized as it depends on gender, height, weight, age, and physical activity. However, the German Nutrition Society (DGE) gives clear recommendations and reference values for the nutrient intake of different age groups.
